History of Dryden Montessori School
She was drawn to the Montessori philosophy while researching preschools for her then two year old daughter, Holly. When observing in different Montessori schools, she consistently saw children who were peaceful, relaxed and highly imaginative. The core Montessori tenets of nurturing the whole child, emphasis on peace education, and encouragement of learning and development through all the senses were consistent with her beliefs and desires for her own family.
Dryden Montessori School was founded in the winter of 2004. The school has evolved and transformed into a beautiful environment for learning. It is Marianne's joy and the continuing mission of Dryden Montessori School to bring compassionate teaching that promotes both emotional and physical wellness to families of the Dryden/Freeville area.
In 2013 Eliza Brown became director of Dryden Montessori following Marianne's transition to teaching as an upper level teacher for Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori of Ithaca. Ailish McKeever, Marianne's friend and colleague became head teacher.
